World Health Organization characterizes global COVID-19 outbreak as pandemic today.

The Government of Canada announced the $1 billion package to provide funding for medical supplies and support to business and workers impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak in Canada.

Ontario reports mote new cases of coronavirus, bringing province’s total to 42 at this time.

Richmond Hill Council adopted unanimously at Council meeting today with the following:
a) Staff to report to Council the protocol already in place if a mass outbreak happens in Richmond Hill.

b) Staff to provide regular updates to Council of COVID-19 outbreak preparedness and response plan.

c) Staff to report to Council a stimulus strategy to help reinvigorate Richmond Hill businesses when COVID-19 is contained or outbreak comes under control.

d) Council to form a special committee to prepare for COVID-19 emergencies in order to expedite the decision-making process.
